Unislamic Burqas

Dear Dr Pipes:

The campaign against Burqas in the European nations is fully justified because, if nothing else, Burqas are a security hazard. But the biggest threat to Burqas is coming from muslim women themselves. If your readers have had the opportunity to visit any Islamic countries recently, they will find a new trend: a lot of young muslim women are wearing what can be termed "fitted fashion burqas". With due apologies, these burqas cover the whole body but follow its curves and contours. They are, in effect, unislamic burqas.

That I see as the best threat to fundamentalism because it shows that the person inside that Burqa is using her brain and expressing her needs for fashion and beauty. There cannot be a better threat for fundamentalism than that.
