To Daniel Pipes, and commenters,
Folks, by now you may (or may) not be familiar with a website called U.S. Read (http://www.usread.com) operated as part of a private, but thorough and professional, investigation.
The site publisher, Victor Trombettas, has been very careful to NOT jump to a conclsion as to a cause for the crash, but instead has focused on witnesses and mistakes in the official investigation - thus avoiding being called a conspiracy nut.
I, on the other hand, will leap into the void, since I beleive that not only was this crash a terrorist incident, but that I believe that Flight 800, the OKC Bombing, and perhaps other incidents have been middle eastern operations. (Read the research or Laurie Mylroie or Jayna Davis for support of this idea.)
I also suspect that the first WTC bombing, and 9/11 do actually have connection to Saddam (see Mylroie again.)
The U.S. wants to downplay the terror aspect to reassure the public and keep social stability, and deny the terrorists the power such actions give them. I think 9/11 was made spectacular in part in order to PREVENT such downplaying of the event.
I also think that the collapse of the towers was a secondary explosion, designed to kill first responders, a technique not unheard of in terror strategy. I remain puzzled by may 9/11 details, including the collapse of building 7.
I suppose I am squarely in the "nut case" category.
