Reader comment on item: Why Did American Airlines 587 Crash?

Submitted by geoff (United States), Oct 31, 2014 at 15:53

I was in my truck that morning when I heard on the news of the crash in New York. Live coverage immediately after the crash had an eye witness interview with a woman who said she watched the plane ascend and saw a flash where the wing meets the fusilage. This ran just twice within several minutes and never again after that. I never heard that interview again or saw any thing on nightly news, I am convinced that it was the first "shoe bomber".
