It may be hard to divine what benefit does American taxpayers receive from the aid Egypt receives from the US, but how does Egypt's taking responsibility of Gaza help American taxpayers, and what benefit did they ever receive from the billions that Israel has been receiving. I am sorry but i think that Mr Daniel here failed to take Egypt's national security in account throughout his article.

Moreover, annexing Gaza with Egypt may be a major threat for the region, because Egypt would be held accountable for any attack from Gaza which may be a spark for an Egyptian-Israeli conflict that could have been avoided
