The PPP's motto is

"Islam is our faith; democracy is our politics; socialism is our economy; all power to the people." Islam is our faith? How can you say they are a secular party with that declaration? As to why the US supports Musharaf's party over the "largest political party", perhaps the reason is the US's belief that a more liberal party would not be as effective in controling the extremist elements in Pakistani society.

As for the Saudis, I don't think the Arabs mind living under a dictatorship. This is a culture with a saying, "a thousand years of oppression is better than one day of anarchy". I think the reasons they hate the Saud family is for their closeness to Western people and not for how they govern.

I don't think you see the irony from our position. If we do'nt support the dictators in place now in some of these countries, the people may replace them with something worse.

I don't understand your comment about Christian Arab support for Islamic extremist groups. It has nothing to do with what I wrote.
