Dr Pipes

From the NY TImes, Feb 9, 2007:

Mr. Majadele - Arab Israeli Muslim Appointed by Prime Minister Olmert - said that he, too, felt uncomfortable with national symbols like the flag, with a Star of David, and the anthem, which speaks of the "Jewish soul" yearning for Zion.

After reading this article in the NY TImes, which confirms several points in your article, Israel has no choice but to:

1. Strip any rights of Citizenship to Muslims even if they are married to Israelis or born in the country or even if they have served in the military or even if they own property. Muslims will be regarded as "residents" therefore access to hospitals, clinics and dentists is not paid by the state

2. Communicate to the citizens that employers must first have positions filled by citizens before resorting to residents

3. In order to carry out certain functions, one must be a citizen ( CPA, police, military employee,etc..)

4. In many cases, especially amongst the youth, the only answer is deportation. These people are just too violent and descend into savagery for the slightest of issues.

Because the Holocaust Jews who have run Israel, especially in the last 30 years, have relinquished so much land, this will be the most difficult point to carry out.

Surely there will be journalists from Jordan, Europe, USA, Canada, South America, et al who will compare these laws to Nuremberg laws but I do not believe that Israel has any choice if it is to exist as the only country which will give sanctuary to Jews at any moment, in all due respect to those countries listed..
