2) Paying the fair market value of Israeli Arabs' and Palestinians' homes and businesses and deport them to Jordan or Syria where many Paelstinans already live

I do not think you could expel Israeli Arabs from Israel. An upshot would be the entire world pretty much seeing it as racism. It would give ammunition to critics of Israel and Jews, and it would also enforce arguments by oppositions that claim Israel is a racist society, like how Jimmy Carter's book essentially says. It would brown the Arab world off, making Israel less safer. Besides some Jews in Israel are not spic and span either. There are racists there too. And it would turn American op-ed pages, except perhaps written by most Jewish columnists, editors and publishers, turn against Israel overnight. Throwing out Israeli Arabs is a grotty idea in my opinion. That is probably why Dr. Pipes put an asterisk saying he meant not to physically remove them.

They have got to get along. By and large, haven't they been getting along fine and the examples of rift are just the exception, huge exception, rather than the rule? And the problem might never hit the skids either and is just temporary, temporary due to recent political going-ons like the Lebanon war, assuming that contributes to it.

That is my humble 2 cents worth.

John R.
