Ahmad Tariq, we need some clarifications.

Reader comment on item: Female Desire and Islamic Trauma
in response to reader comment: The Actions of Others

Submitted by Moshe (Israel), Dec 29, 2006 at 02:58

You call upon us: "Please don't take the actions of people as the teachings of Islam. The extremists have perverted the teachings of Islam for their own desires and wishes and have no fear of God."

Now please you tell us:

1. The Taliban in Afghanistan: Women not allowed walking on street without male escort.

2. The Saudis: Women not allowed to drive cars

3. Iran: It is legal to marry 9 years old girls.

Aren't these countries the main strongholds of "pure" Islam?

Are all these countries "extremists who have perverted the teachings of Islam"?

Please tell us where is the "true" Islam hiding?

Just curious!

Thank You,

Moshe
