Reader comment on item: Female Desire and Islamic Trauma

Submitted by MS (Canada), Jul 21, 2009 at 10:14

I saw a video clip (it's on youtube) about a US soldier in Iraq admitting to raping women.

We know of at least one case where a group of soldiers raped a girl and murdered her and her family (thankfully in jail now)
The question is, what about the rest? Are all these videos and pictures circulating on the internet real?

If so, who is taking these soldiers accountable? Dr. Pipes, let's be fair. As despicable as the Islamic world treats women, why is the US government itself not cracking down on soldiers who abuse humanity?

The more i read from your site, the more i realize that certainly Islam is twisted, but so is every religion and ideology that does not stand for human values. Sadly, this includes our own governments, who do not react to these pictures with the utmost urgency needed. I think these pictures have been in circulation for years now. How do we value women?
