Where is the link?

I concur with much of Mr. Pipes's analysis on sexual patterns and traditions in Muslim socitites. It must be pointed out of course that these are general attributes which are not true for every Muslim or Muslim society and that in modernizing Muslim socities such as Malaysia these attitudes are changing.
On the other hand I am puzzled at the connection Mr.Pipes makes between sexual repression in Muslim socities and the level of outrage caused by the Abu Ghraib abuses. I think every decent human being was outraged by those acts of barbarity regardless of societal sexual mores. I simply don't see the connection!
