Reader comment on item: Is Allah God?

It's called equivalency, this is how languages are able to be translated. It's not about the actual letters or sounds in the name, but what the name means, and who or what it's really directed towards. It would be incredibly foolish of God to base salvation on letters or sounds instead of belief. The spanish word "perro" means the same thing as the english word "dog". My point is not that a person can only be saved by the name "Jesus", but that is how His name is known in the english language, which I speak. The original name for Jesus is actually the Hebrew "Yeshua".

If you called me the equivalent of "David" in another language, I would not mind. I wouldn't really mind if you called me "John" either, as that is my middle name, but that's besides the point.

Now, on top of this, I know from scripture that not everyone who calls Him "Lord" will enter the kingdom of heaven, but those who do the will of His Father in heaven. I thank God for this, as there has been so much violence and evil done in His name.

Jesus Christ is not just a Son of God, and He was not just a messenger. He is the one and only messiah, and I put my faith in Him alone, and so do (a minority of)people all over the world, whatever name He is known by to them. One thing is certain, and that is the fact that God does not change, and He will not contradict Himself, ever.

Matthew 7

13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
