Reader comment on item: Something Rotten in Denmark?
in response to reader comment: Abdul Rahman - Christian ? Muslim ? Execution ?

Qur'an 24:6 "And for those who launch a charge against their wives, accusing them, but have no witnesses or evidence, except themselves; let the testimony of one of them be four testimonies by Allah that he is the one speaking the truth."

That wasn't my commentary. I copied and pasted that, but even without it, it says the same thing. I don't need your other translations that you gave me. I can read the verse myself. I thought you didn't trust in translations, right? Just as you don't trust the Bible as you have stated because it has been translated. By the way, I noticed your translations also have added words in parenthesis, which would indicate an addition by someone. I guess I should admonish you for messing with the translation, right?

Additions in parenthesis:
YUSUFALI: (Reliable) (other)
PICKTHAL: (to the truth of the allegation) (until) (through new legislation).
SHAKIR: (witnesses)

That verse still says the same thing. If the man launches a charge against his wife but has no witness, except himself, let his testimony be four testimonies and by Allah he is the one speaking the truth.
