When will it all end?Reader comment on item: The Gods and the Arab-Israeli Conflict Submitted by Michael (United States), Dec 17, 2005 at 13:29 I wonder whether there exists anyone who seriously expects that the Arab-Israeli conflict will end before every side gets that which it needs in order to prosper and thrive in peace with its neighbors. Then I read more comments that all seem to say the same thing: that the conflict will end only when one side has gained total victory over the other. So it is apparent that the conflict will continue, until this impasse has been overcome. People in the region have been trying to destroy their enemies for the past 5,000 years or more, since before the time of the Hittites. And they have thus far failed to do so. Why don't they just once try to accomodate the legitimate demands of their neighbors, so they no longer have the need to remain enemies? No matter. It must continue until the Godless Ones have all been destroyed by the Righteous. That is, into the indefinite future.
