If he'll push for a deal, he'll press the Palestinians hard in a way Democrats never wouldReader comment on item: The Gods and the Arab-Israeli Conflict Submitted by Anon (Israel), Dec 6, 2016 at 10:56 You will remember that Kerry pushed Abbas for a few days to accept the Jewish state, but when Abbas looked cross and said he'll never do it, Kerry gave up and told Israel that Abbas is committed to it because Arafat committed the P.A to it. Trump would not give up very easily. If he'll try to get both sides together, he is likely to lean hard on the Palestinians as well as Israel. He is less likely than the Democrats to just blame Israel. Moreover, given that he listens to people like Gingrich (who isn't the only one around Trump with such views), he is particularly unlikely to force Israel to accept a terrorist state. He is likely, if the issue were to be raised, to explain that the Palestinians have to accept the Jewish state's presence rather than to refuse to recognize it and seek its annhilation.
