DNM: You proffer too much in the way of whether this fledgling student student of the Arabic (Aramaic) expressions of Middle Eastern philosophies 'might be giving al-Mufasereen and the authors of the tradition too much credit; if that were true, then this oine of questioning would be rhetorical, which it is not.
Ancient history was introduced to this student decades ago, but certain influences masked the transliteration necessary to obtain the underlying meanings and not until reading your posts from a decade ago, was there finaly a sense of how and why, which was acknowledged as a direct result of your assertions of clarifications.
The introduction of the tafsirs of al-Tabari and other contemporaries, especially when consdering the obfuscation of the literary sources of the time, lend for a comparative analysis as to why the Christian failure of expressing the truth of the Gospel of the Messiah was so easy to accomplish when replacement theology alleged towards Islam actually resulted from the message of the Gospel had been diluted long before.
Those reasons why are now more clear; that while it would be easy to blame Islam for promulgating a diluted and contradictory Messianic message, the clash of cultures in propagating such an insult to the Messiah was more self-inflicted. Thanks for the clarification, DNM, and Dr Pipes, for allowing this forum to provide access.
