Fair and Balanced?

Reader comment on item: Television in Time of War

Submitted by Mark Roth (United States), Aug 4, 2005 at 19:44

Congratulations on your refusal to share a stage with islamo-fascists. When you appear with them you implicitly endorse the erroneous notion that they have some legitimacy to their point of view. I have often written to FoxNews on the issue in this vein: Your slogan "fair and balanced...we report, you decide" is wrong. The issue is not "fair and balanced", but "accurate and objective". If a guest is not representing an objectively legitimate position then it is morally corrupt to give them legitimacy by giving them a forum.
