Fine Daniel Pipes Article on TV and War in Aug 2 NY Sun

Great article by Daniel Pipes in the August 2 NY Sun. How strange this must sound to audiences like CNN who always feel it is necessary to give equal time to the PA and Israeli spokespersons every time there is a terror incident against Israel. Pipes is the only media figure articulating this kind of highly principled and reasonable stand today. Let us hope others will follow suit soon.

In general, Pipes reminds me of Winston Churchill in the six years leading up to WWII. Seemingly alone, he sees through to the heart of the problem, and recommends thoughtful, constructive and clear action to forestall a major threat to our society.

Thomas Friedman of the NY Times has been described as a one-man think tank. I think Pipes is more deserving of this title as he has practical solutions. He is also serious, articulate and modest, i.e., not full of himself rather than of the issue at hand.
