Being a good patriot, a speaker against the shift towards anti-Americanism, has brought you to extremism. I refer, of course, to your extreme patriotism.

To balance your extreme patriotism, it is only natural that executives will put you in conflict by bringing in enemy propagandists. Otherwise, the truth you speak would be too obvious and might bore the... executives, who thrive on conflict which they claim creates "ratings". To have a good honest patriot like yourself, you also need an... America-hater.

So, you see, the network execs need balance, and to balance the obvious truth you speak, they need obvious lies from the enemy.
