Response to Ron KlettReader comment on item: Weak Brits, Tough French Submitted by Dan (United States), Jul 13, 2005 at 11:57 The letter submitted by Mr. Klett should be required reading for every western leader in the world. While many of us have submitted similar thoughts piecemeal, the letter synthesizes and articulates the problem quite clearly. Once again, the most important is to be able to recognize a problem and then formulate a solution. The west seems utterly incapable of doing so in this instance. Our political correctness has seriously hamstrung us. One difficulty with this "war" is that it is not geographically located, it appears to be plodding and doing "little" harm, and the economies and peoples of the west are not significantly affected at this point. This is a significant misreading of the nature and urgency of the problem we face. Glaciers move at glacial rates yet over time, they can be terrible destructive, and so it is with our islamist problem. I have little of substance to add to the submitted letter so I shall not try, only to reiterate: this should be required reading for ALL those who value freedom and democracy.
