Response to Ron Klett

Reader comment on item: Weak Brits, Tough French

Hi I have just been going over and over and over the exact same argument as in your post (I live in London). However, instead of venting fury at home, I would like to do something about it.

I am Indian but paranoid about defence of democracy and individual liberties which people in the West take so much for granted. People in Europe just don't know what they have and I am so shocked at the response to London bombings. It is so passive. I think the Americans will definitely win the war against radical Islam but Europe has very difficult days ahead.

In 30 years they could go to partial Sharia law to totalitarian regimes in 50 - scary thought. and these stupid stupid stupid euro-liberals' grandchildren will never forgive them for having to wear a hijab and getting flogged for the wrong shape of beard.

My son is half Dutch so I worry - and I loved Europe 5 years back - peaceful (may be too laid back).

I was wondering if you knew of organisations one could join for the passionate defence of democracy. at this point it needs more saving from the lefties.

God help us all.

Daniel Pipes replies:

Unfortunately, such organizations have been slow in appearing and limited in scope. I know of some in the United States but not in Britain; perhaps other readers might respond.
