Reader comment on item: Is Allah God?

I strongly disagree with your conclusion in your article that the Judeo-Christian God and Allah of Muhammad are one and the same.
The word "Allah" is an Arabic word which means "god." This does not make it the true living Judeo-Christian God. In fact, in ancient times people used to worship all kinds of idols and call then gods. This did not make any of them equal to the true living God. A name does not define a person. What defines a person is his attributes, not his name. Many persons have identical names, but they are different persons. Each of them has different attributes. The attributes of the Judeo-Christian God are very different from those of the Islamic god. In fact, they do not have much in common. For instance, the Judeo-Christian God is one God distinguished in three divine persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, without division or separation. The Islamic god is a uni-personal god. Muhammad denied the divinity of Christ in the Qur'an and stated that his god "begot none, nor was he begotten" (Surah 112: 3). The Judeo-Christian God does not forgive sins without atonement. The Islamic god does. The paradise of the Judeo-Christian God is state of spiritual bliss in new spiritual bodies in close communion with God. The paradise of the Islamic god is a carnal paradise of gluttony and promiscuity. Christianity calls these excesses sins. The list grows tall. Since this is not intended to be a theological treatise, we will not go into all the different attributes. This establishes beyond doubt the fact that these conflicting attributes define two different gods, not the same god, which means that Muhammad's claim to the contrary in Surah 29: 46 is false. The Judeo-Christian God is the true living God, because he manifested himself with powerful miracles and powers throughout history. ...
