Reader comment on item: ISIS Rampages, the Middle East Shakes

Submitted by Ameer Labeeb Hassan (United States), Jun 23, 2014 at 15:29

The situation in Iraq is a sad one. Al' Maliki is a Shiite who is not interested in an "all inclusive" government. ISIS is a militant group of Sunni's in revolt. If U.S. military power can't make a difference and ISIS reaches Baghdad Al' Maliki can fully be expected to turn to Iran for military assistance. Iran, being a State sponsor of Terrorism, is certain to: (1) Turn the situation in Iraq into a Shia-Sunni War and; (2) Turn Iraq into a safe haven for Terrorist's with severe backlash for the United States and Israel.

A recent poll showed that 54% of Americans don't believe that President Obama is fit to lead. His naive foreign policy position with respect to the current situation in Iraq fully appears to suggest just that.
