A poisoned rose by any other name

Reader comment on item: ISIS Rampages, the Middle East Shakes

Submitted by Jose Grecko (United States), Jun 13, 2014 at 17:14

ISIS, al Qaeda, Hamas, Hezbollah, Boko Haram. Sunni, Shiite, Kharijite, Suffi, Ibadi. Islamist, Jihadi, Freedom Fighter, Extremist, Rebel, Moderate Muslim. Getting lost in the semantics does nothing but blur our vision and weaken our resolve. Shall we really fail to grasp that these are each but venomous thorns on the same poisoned rose, "Islam".
