Gujrat Chief Minister

Reader comment on item: A Neo-Conservative's Caution

Submitted by Emmanuel P (France), Apr 2, 2005 at 08:15

I don't understand the objections in several posts to the denial of a visa to the Chief Minister of Gujrat. I think it was a good decision. I would just as happily deny him a visa as I would deny an Islamist agitator a visa. It was not "appeasement" of Muslims, it was simply a stand against extremism which I think sets a good precedent. I'm aware that this is slightly away from the topic of Mr. Pipes' article, but I think it's important to mention. Hindutva extremists and those who allow them free reign are just as bad as Islamists.

Sincerely, Emmanuel
