False Hope

Reader comment on item: [The Search for Moderate Islam:] A Reply to Lawrence Auster

Let us not be misled by false hope of finding a peaceful Islam and moderate muslim when the history tells us otherwise. When this has not happened for last 1400 years what makes people think that it will happen now or in future. In fact, the indications are that radical Islam is on the rise. You see there is no radical or moderate Islam. And the same goes for its followers. Rather, all Islam is the same and "true" muslims are just following what they are expected to do according to Quran. That is their God's word and it cannot be changed. And if these are considered terroristic acts by the rest of the world then so be it. They don't care. They are not going to give it up just because we call it terroristic. They have to continue this jihad or else they won't be true muslims

The term "moderate muslim" is an oxymoron. Muslims will do anything for their religion and it will take not even a nanosecond for a so called "moderate" muslim to become a "radical" for defendng and spreading their faith. You think those nineteen 9/11 terrorists were raised as radaicals from their childhood? Their families deny it. So how did they become radical coming from seemingly normal and moderate muslim families? This just proves that moderate muslims do not exist, no matter how much you wish they did. So long as their radical ideas lay dormant they are moderate but in truth they are all radicals

So long as muslims believe in spreading their religion by any means, and keep hating and demonizing other religions this world is not going to be peaceful until they have converted or killed the rest of us and even after that it is doubtful. A peaceful solution is in the hands of muslims only. What will they choose?
