in response to reader comment: Moderate Islam?

Submitted by satish k kapoor (India), Mar 28, 2010 at 00:17

There are moderate muslims by billions;yes by nature and temperament, and their numbers might increase as every individual wants to live in peace. On the other hand ,the history of Islam is littered with zealots, who in the name of religion perpetrated barbarities on innocents, asking them either to convert or face death. The Sikh Guru,Guru Arjan Dev,was made to sit on red hot cauldron;Guru Tegh Bahadur was asked to accept Islam and when he refused, his head was cut off; two small children of Guru Gobind Singh were bricked in walls at Sirhind(punjab) and so on. Speaking of Moderate Islam is like imagining Hot Icecream or Cold fire. May Mullas and Maulavis see reason, and reinterpret the Quran in a rational way. The tribal mindset will continue to beget hatred and war.
