in response to reader comment: Moderate Islam?

It has been said, iron cuts iron. This may be true of metals but not of human beings. Human life is precious. A fundamentalist Christian fighting a fundamentalist Muslim ,whether singly or in a group, would lead to the defeat of both. What is required is a change of heart . Or else, the war between bigots would go on. Promoting fundamentalism to counter fundamentalism will not help. The very ideology of fundamentalism shall have to be punctured ,step by step,by way of reason and faith. The response to a virulent Islam cannot be a virulent Christianity, because that would deprive the latter of its quintessential. You do not cure a mad man by becoming a mad man. Given the complexity of the issue, the problem needs to be solved at political, social, moral, cultural and other levels, depending on what would suit a particular milieu. The forces of Light and of Darkness have always been at war . But at no time truth has been a casuality in the end. Nature must be watching with disdain, all that is happening in our world today. Circumstances might take such a turn naturally that the negative forces loose their stronghold on humanity. See fundamentalists are fighting fundamentalists already, in Pakistan ,Afghanistan and other countries. Let peace lovers work together. But we must have patience and faith in the workings of Nature
