Silenced on the truth

Reader comment on item: The Voice of America, Silenced on Radical Islam

Submitted by Rebecca Moulds (United States), Mar 6, 2009 at 09:32

In 1981 in Jakarta, we had only short-wave radio to connect us to the world. Between the BBC and Voice of America, we usually chose the BBC as our news source, because we couldn't stand to hear the "special English" used on VOA. Now I know we were right not to listen to it, if they are now taking the line that using the words "Islamic" or "Muslim extremist" is wrong. In this age of political correctness, we need a voice of truth rather than a voice of cowardice.
