Out of their own mouthsReader comment on item: My Disrupted Talk at the University of California-Irvine Submitted by Edward Halper (United States), Feb 4, 2007 at 12:13 The short clip follows the protesters out and remains with them. At one point, someone is heard to say that the protest was a great success because those who remained now feel bad. I doubt that this was the case--they were probably happy to have them out. But I think that the words suggest what needs to be done repeatedly and loudly. The murderous tactics of Islamists are disgusting. We need to repeat again and again how disgusting they are, how unjust, and how disgraceful. Indeed, we should be saying that the perpetrators will surely not get a heavenly reward, but will have to answer for their actions, as will those manipulative cowards who sent them. The more we can say and prevent Muslims from changing the topic by insisting that it is the Israelis or the US who are at fault or who do the same thing--the more we can insist on the immorality of murderous attacks on innocents, the more chance we have of getting moderate Muslims to distance themselves from the maniacs. What I am suggesting seems like a small thing, and it would be a small thing for most westerners. I don't think it is small for the muslims on this tape. Learn from their own words.
