Eloquent elegance triumphs over oafish idiocyReader comment on item: My Debate with London Mayor Ken Livingstone Submitted by Will Scott (United Kingdom), Jan 26, 2007 at 05:00 Not much to add to the comments already made except to say how impressed I was with Mr Pipes' gracious and articulate presentation. His soft-spoken manner and gentle demeanour perfectly matched his informed, clear articulation of the issues. Both his manner and his mind contrasted sharply with the oafs he was debating. He was clearly a giant among Pygmies (or Ewoks), And his debating partner, Douglas Murray, was breathtakingly frank, forthright and invincible - a perfect complement to Mr Pipes who got the loudest and longest applause of the whole event. Kudos to you both and many thanks for taking such a courageous stand for facts and realism, especially here in 'Londonistan'.
