Terry - Not necessarily logicalReader comment on item: My Debate with London Mayor Ken Livingstone Submitted by Allan Levine (United Kingdom), Feb 25, 2007 at 09:11 Terry, your statement "That the general population of London could ever have voted in to office a complete idiot such as red ken, shows the average intelligence of the electorate." is not necessarily accurate. There is also the factor of a suitable alternative to motivate the more intelligent to bother to vote. There once was a time when politicians expressed a view or strategy to deal with the problems we're faced with. On the basis of this people chose to elect them or not. Today we have politicians that decide according to the media spin which tack they will follow. For this reason there is little difference in recent times between any of the political parties. Given that there is little moral substance or integrity to these politicans, swaying in the media breeze as they do, it's hardly surprising there's so much corruption, and few real fixes for the problems of our society.
