New Political.Media Website in UK offers hopeReader comment on item: My Debate with London Mayor Ken Livingstone Submitted by Allan Levine (United Kingdom), Feb 3, 2007 at 17:22 What might well become mainstream - not only as an alternative to political parties, but as a media outlet in it's own right, is a new website http://18doughtystreet.com/home While they call themselves 'Conservatives', they stress that this implies no link to the present Conservative party. They have already launched several campaigns, including one against Livingstone, and readers can post comments with information and suggestions on the site. They will soon have 'citizen journalists' with video cameras getting news - instead of making it as our present media likes to do. It's in our interest to see this kind of venture become successful, and offers us an outlet to be proactive rather than defensive. Check it out. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please. Comments are screened and in some cases edited before posting. Reasoned disagreement is welcome but not comments that are scurrilous, off-topic, commercial, disparaging religions, or otherwise inappropriate. For complete regulations, see the "Guidelines for Reader Comments". Comment on this item
