Submitted by dhimmi no more (United States), Jan 23, 2007 at 18:01 Hi AS I very much agree with you that the Persians were dragged into Islam and what saved them and their culture from Arabian imperialsim might have been something as simple as the shahnemah. I also believe that Shi3a Islam is a statement by Persians that they would not like to be Sunnis, as Sunnis are the Arabs! But the ultimate insult to the Arabs and to islam is the fact that according to Ali Dashti, 70% of Islamic literature was written by Perians and not by Arabs which means that it was Persians that shaped islam and not the Arabs.
