Anothe Question for Nuray

Reader comment on item: Is Allah God?
in response to reader comment: Quran, last version

Oh, I almost forgot. I haven't read the Quran yet, but I plan to do so soon. I was wondering if Mohammed made any prophecy in the book regarding foresight or foreknowledge, like the Old Testament prophets. A test of a true prophet included whether or not his prophecy actually comes true. This is how we separate false prophets from true ones.

For example, Benny Hinn is a modern "Christian" who made prophetic predictions about the second coming of Christ, the apocalypse, or end of the world as we know it, on more than one occasion. He cited exact dates on which our world would end. The dates came, and passed, with no event. His predictions were wrong. He is a false prophet. He claimed to have received direct revelation from God (still does). He had (still has) many many followers who donate an awful lot of money to his "ministry". He is a deceiver and is not a prophet of God. There are ways to verify a prophet that are far more tangible than just having followers. Jim Jones had followers. He killed them. Just having followers doesn't verify your authenticity as the way of God. Also, is Mohammed the exclusive author of the Quran? Did he write it by himself? Thanks!
