Reader comment on item: Is Allah God?
in response to reader comment: Allah is not the God of the Bible

And in Petra(Jordan) the ancient city of the Edomites (decendants of Esau and Ishmael through his daughter Mahalath) the moon god Qaus or Kaush. There was found an inscription "Qaus is Allah" or Qaus is god. The symbols of Qaus is the Bow (hunting god) and the crescent moon with a single star(the symbol of Islam today) the interesting thing to note is that Qaus is exalted as a hunting god with a bow, their ancestor Esau (Edom) son of Issac was a good hunter as described in Genesis. And so was Ishmael. Sources : The Holy scriptures, Wikipedia/Petra heading under religion.
