Errors in stating Islamic beliefs.

Reader comment on item: Is Allah God?

Submitted by kausar Abbas (United Kingdom), May 14, 2014 at 20:09

You are wrong to say that Muslims believe Moses and Jesus introduced mistakes into the word of God. Correct thing to say would be Muslims believe that the Scriptures of Moses and Jesus were later corrupted by other people. Also Abrahim was not the first Muslim, it was Adam who was the first Man and Muslim. please try to be fair and accurate when writing about core Islamic beliefs.

Daniel Pipes replies:

Islamic tradition blames both Moses and Jesus as well as their followers for the corruptions.

Adam was the first believer but Surah 22:78 indicates that Abraham was the first Muslim: "And strive for Allah with the striving due to Him. He has chosen you and has not placed upon you in the religion any difficulty. [It is] the religion of your father, Abraham."
