Yes, there are some hostile versus in Quran against disbelievers. These versus were sent down to Muslims to protect themselves from disbelievers, namely Mekken idolaters. Later on, all Arabs were united under the flag of Islam.

Any religion including Islam can't give any permission to kill innocent people unless there are strong reasons which could be self defense, fighting against invaders or protecting families and children. Otherwise, those hostile actions are not justified. In this century there are some invaded Muslim countries. They have right to defense their countries. It has nothing to do with destroying unbelievers. There are also very tourist attractive Muslim countries like Turkey and Egypt you can go there and enjoy your holiday. No body will touch you.

Quran is protected by God. No one can change any letter of it. Any word of Quran is not replaced until now. It will be so forever. This is the basic difference between Quran and other holly books. But, they are originally coming from the same source. We Muslims call Jews and Christians as book of people and respect them. We believe in same God, Allah.
