In response to Michael and DavidReader comment on item: Debating PBS's "Muhammad" Documentary Submitted by Asiadeh (United States), Dec 20, 2002 at 22:05 In response to the comments by Michael and David regarding the quotation from the Quran "Whosoever saveth a life saveth the life of all mankind..." as having originated from the Jewish tradition and the Talmud, I as a Muslim say I am certainly not surprised that this quotation had appeared seven hundred years earlier in the Talmud. As Muslims, we believe in the Torah and the revelations from God to Moses, as we believe in the Holy Bible and the revelations from God to Jesus Christ. We revere both Moses and Jesus as Holy Prophets of The One God we also believe in. We believe Islam is simply a continuation of the religion first revealed to Abraham, but that the message for humanity was completed with the revelations to the last Prophet of God, and that is Muhammad. Thus the scriptures of Judaism and Christianity, as revealed in their original state, and not altered by man, are also deemed holy books in Islam.
