PBS is sending the wrong messageReader comment on item: Debating PBS's "Muhammad" Documentary Submitted by John Harman (Canada), Dec 20, 2002 at 17:03 Showing what could be termed a proselytizing view of Islam may be sending a seriously wrong message to the Arab world. That message may be interpreted as America has been so initimidated by the powerful forces of Islamism as to truckle by way of a government funded entity. The Arab world undoubtedly sees the United States of America as a monothilic power as the governments that they are most familiar with. They don't know that America is a FREE country and therefore can't be expected to understand that American taxpayers are tolerant towards government funding of whatever the left thinks is good for them to know. If that is interpreted as weakness or cowardice in face of threatening enemy it might lead to some unintended consequences.Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
