PBS "Muhammad "
Reader comment on item: Debating PBS's "Muhammad" Documentary

Submitted by Narendra Kumar (Canada), Dec 23, 2002 at 00:22

I agree with your views Mr. Pipes, as Ken James claims he converted to Islam to save life.
It's a joke. One does not have to be a fire fighter to save life. The first profession to save life is ito be in medical field or be a social worker in a third world country, and NOT a fire fighter. What happens when it is just the building that is on fire, and most of the times it is so.
Secondly to ptrotect Muhammad from being named a womaniser, Koran (Muhammad) recited and promoted multiple marriages and tells its to protect women from violence; as there were fewer men after the battle....It was also stated that Muslims never attack first. Well thats not true. Ms. Armstrong needs a lesson of Islamic history, not what happened in western world, but how did Islam spread to Afganistan, India, Indonesia and far east. They were aggressors and their slogan was rape, murder or torture by the tip of the sword unless one converts to Islam. Aggressors were either Arabian, Iranians or the Turks.

Muslim leaders and warriors used these tactics for centuries and when some people laid their lives down and refused to convert, there was a Head Tax put on those inhabitants of the countries and to spare their lives.

There is a confusion in the interpretation of Koran. Ask any sufi or mullaha and you get a different answer.
When any body questions the authenticity of the Koran and when it was written, Islam issue a FATWA. This the weakness of the religion.

The indirect philosphy Islam has followed for centuries is to breed more babies and control through man power. Their average net growth over the last few centuries has been about 25- 30 per 1000. while the non Islamic world population remaind between 1-1.3 per 1000. If the incoming flow is NOT controlled they will have the power by default.

They build mosques where ever there is a muslim crowd but will not let any other religion to build a place for their worship in Muslim countrires. How many temples, churches or syngogue are in those countries, while in Western countries one can find hundred in just one city. They don't assimilate but control the destiny of others on the logic of civil or religious rights. and in the name of Allah, manipulate you to accept.

Imagine each employer will be legislated to keep an area for worship at the work place and of course they will be using the place five times a day. Coffee break, lunch break and now comes the prayer break and not to forget the time to wash prior to worship for Allah. And employer will pay for all these breaks; and in not too distant future Friday will be declared a holiday; and SHARIA will be the law of the land. Some of us would be gone by then but for generations to come it is frightening. Imagine the fate of western women.

And I also notice that to gain popularity one must go and talk or pretend to talk good about Islam, lest there would be a decree issued against the guy. There are run of the mill journalists and so called historian hypocritically will not hesitate to take this role as now a days this the road to glory. ..../Nari.
