Yes, please help us understand Mr. Pipes

Why is it that muslims--far from being hounded and persecuted in the streets--are being held up as victims to end all victimhood?

Since 9/11, the acts of violence and discrimination against Christians and Jews around the world have increased significantly in number, with conspiracy theorist propaganda blaming the Jews for the attacks sell out of bookstores worldwide, and Hamas and now Al Q'aeda call for Jewish and American blood at all costs.

Yet it still seems that our government and the governments of many of our allies are acting as though these things aren't happening. In fact, they still maintain the charade that it is the Muslims around the world, in America and in the EU in particular, who are marginalized and maligned--that it is they who need this kind of PR propping up.

WHY? Please help us understand why they are the preferred victims du jour?
