Corruption in KSA

Reader comment on item: What Riyadh Buys [in Washington]

Submitted by Edward Whited (United States), Dec 12, 2002 at 09:51

...The Saudi Family is a Dictatorship with a family in control, and it doesn't represent the people of the country. But that is the way of the Arab culture.

We think that because we have a democracy that the whole world needs the same. Now we are financially attached to the Saudis because of our oil, military and technology market. The United States, as was stated to me by our honorable consulate general, two months ago in Dhahran Saudi Arabia, "is interested in promoting BUSINESS interests before other interests". This is the way the system, in the states, works. Case in point, Cuba, Vietnam, Cambodia, China 1948, African countries, Arab countries until after the cold war.

Of course if the States did take consideration in the ground level people (including over seas US workers) there may be a better handle on what you think is international corruption.
