You said there is contradiction in the Bible when it comes to the relationship between the Father and The Son. There are no such contradictions in the Bible, but if you see any please post them in your comments.

As far as the third crusade the only reason Richard did not capture Jerusalem was because he decided against it, although his knights were eager to. After capturing Acre and Jaffa from Saladin Richard felt if he captured Jerusalem he might not be able to hold on to it. He reasoned that way because his enemies in Europe were doing everything they can to sabotage him when it came to sending him reinforcements. Phillipe V of France who was Richard's personal enemy was the force behind that sabotage.

Richard earned the surname Lion heart after the capture of Jaffa. Richard was never cornered by Saladin for Saladin to have allowed him to live.
