Dear Richard,

If you read the following verses of Quran you will see that when Allah swears by drawing attention to their importance.

"I swear by the Day of Resurrection; And I swear by the self-reproaching person (a believer)". (75:1-2)

So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). (81:15)

So I swear by Mawâqi (setting or the mansions, etc.) of the stars (they traverse). And verily, that is indeed a great oath, if you but know (56:75-76)

It is a way of expression. The last three verses give scientific information about stars. They have certain position in the space otherwise they will loose their orbit path.

You wrote that

"Christians for centuries. Christians do not worship statues, the statues are only a testament of faith."
If you ask any Hindus why do they use Idols for worshipping they give the same answer like you. You can read this from early comments on this website from Uday.

During the life time of Muhammed, peace upon him, Kaaba was full of idols and pictures of holly people like Abraham. But not any more.

If God speaks directly to his prophets not through angels it means the trinity reduces from three to two. Holy Spirit is not necessary. Isn't it? Then you might explain trinity isn't about trying to believe that 3 = 1 but 2 = 1.
