Sometimes a dog dies

Reader comment on item: Muslim Taxi Drivers vs. Seeing-Eye Dogs

Submitted by Mira (Canada), May 16, 2017 at 14:13

Several years ago in Calgary, a friend of mine who has a Guide Dog, after initially being told that she could not bring her dog into the car, entered a cab that belonged to a Moslem driver.
She and her dog were in the back; apparently something rather sharp had been placed on the floor where the dog would lie, and the dog suffered a serious cut.
When my friend discovered this and informed the cabbie and told him to drive her to the Vet, the driver freaked out and kicked them out of his car - leaving them stranded with no idea where they were.
The dog later died as a result of its injury.
Complaints were filed.
Was anything done about it?
The last I heard, no.
