Surprise to meReader comment on item: Muslim Taxi Drivers vs. Seeing-Eye Dogs Submitted by Ann (Canada), Oct 12, 2007 at 23:42 Called a cab tonight for my husband and our ten-pound pet shih-tzu - sure he's a little spoiled (the dog not hubby) but absolutely not a threat to the poor moslem taxi driver - we would never have allowed the dog to lick him even had we known that it is against q'ran teachings - we simply needed a ride home. Taxi cab companies should make it know that even here in Canada we must respect these religious biases - or perhaps they should advise their drivers of Canadians' lifestyles, including the fact that most of us regard our pets as part of the family - in future we will certainly specify that we require a non moslem driver rather than cause offence.
