Reader comment on item: Muslim Taxi Drivers vs. Seeing-Eye Dogs
in response to reader comment: Sad State of affairs

Where I grew up in the South we mostly had hunting dogs and watch dogs that were restricted to the porch and yard and could not live inside unless the temps dropped below freezing. I also grew up Black or African American in the Jim Crow South where Whites or European Americans tried and usually succeeded in preventing us from using public facilities.

Now I personally don't want to be bothered with someone else's pet dogs, because they are about as unpredictable as stupid people. But the case for working dogs for the disabled is they are probably smarter than the cab drivers. Someone should have explain in no uncertain terms to these hardworking religious zealots that they must obey the laws local, state and federal laws if they are to do business with the American public. But someone in this forum pointed out that Whites didn't respect the laws of Native Americans.
