Gut feelings are important

Hi, Yonason

Daniel is human, like the rest of us; and we are not all cerebral. In fact, Donald Trump has very much appealed to the "non-cerebral" in Americans, and I believe this accounts for nearly all his support. That may be very disturbing to someone like Daniel, to more cerebral people, and especially to people with a gut memory or the Holocaust and of antisemitism -- a memory so vivid inside them, that they unconsciously suppress it.

My wife's a nurse; and as such, she has kept up on studies of the human gut. I kid you not -- bacteria in our guts generate neurological responses; so that there is a medical reality to "gut feelings". We might naturally be inclined to listen to our cerebral side; but our gut side is still there, and it is continually speaking. A large portion of Americans "know in their guts" that Hillary, Bernie, Ted, John, Marco and Jeb are speaking baloney; and Donald Trump has tapped into this.

I'm fairly certain that Mr. Trump will win the Republican nomination; and if he does not, I will feel betrayed by a party that rejects the will of its members. In my case, I don't think this will cause me to sit out the November election, but it might. The cerebral side of me says that I should simply accept the nominee, whoever he is, and unite with other Republicans to defeat Clinton 2.0 (or Benghazi 1.0, whichever one wishes to call her). Even so, I will accept whoever is elected, and pray for him or her; because the US President affects many lives, for good or for evil.

Shalom shalom :-)
