Open War is Upon Us and there is Nothing We can do to Stop It.
Reader comment on item: [Saudi Arabia:] Not Friend or Foe

Submitted by Aaron Speer (United States), Apr 15, 2005 at 11:53

World War III

War, the very thing that brings while at the same time destroys peace. Those that bring about war must be prevented from starting future conflicts. Clausewitz's definition of war as "an act of force to compel the enemy to do our will." Every society has their own way of declaring war on another society. The Islamic way is mostly not the best way from the way I interpreted it from this news article clipping:
"The ruling to kill the Americans and their allies-civilians and military-is an individual duty for every Muslim who can do it in any country in which it is possible to do it in order to liberate the al-Aqsa Mosque and the holy mosque (Mecca) from their grip and in order for their armies to move out of all the lands of Islam, defeated and unable to threaten any Muslim.4

Al Qaeda's political objective is to destroy the United States and, along with it, Western culture and civilization. Their ultimate goal is to establish a worldwide Islamic religious government based on the ancient model of the caliphates.5 The 9/nCommission Report concluded: "Bin Laden and Islamist terrorists mean exactly what they say: to them America is the font of all evil, the 'head of the snake,' and it must be converted or destroyed."6

In what is World War IV, al Qaeda has articulated and is pursuing a total war objective as all encompassing as was that of the Soviet Union in World War III (the Cold War) or that of any of the major belligerents in World War II, especially the Allies who determined to accept only the unconditional surrender of Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan. Totality in war is a matter of objective rather than a measure of the level of violence.

Dr. Boaz Ganor, president of the International Policy Institute for Counter-Terrorism and professor of International Relations at Tel Aviv University, one of the world's leading experts on post-modern terrorism, thinks al Qaeda has a three-stage strategy to achieve its ultimate goal of establishing a worldwide radical Islamic caliphate.

Stage One: Take control of Muslim countries by first destabilizing traditional or pro-Western Arab regimes in the Persian Gulf and in Southwest Asia. To achieve this objective, it will be necessary to compel the United States to withdraw its military forces from the region. This is why Iran, its Hezbollah surrogates, and those radical Islamic groups allied with them are determined to defeat the United States in Iraq. If democracy takes hold in Iraq, it will be much more difficult for Islamic fundamentalists to take power in Saudi Arabia and in such Gulf states as Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, the Muscat of Oman, and the United Arab Emirates. In this stage they also plan to supplant secular Muslim regimes in Syria, Jordan and Egypt. In Southwest Asia, they aim to take back Afghanistan and take over Pakistan. If the latter falls, al Qaeda will gain access to nuclear weapons.

Stage Two: Take control of secondary Muslim countries or nations with significant Muslim populations. Islamic fundamentalists intend to destroy the Islamic democracy in Turkey, take over Libya, Tunisia and Morocco in North Africa, as well as Ghana and Uganda in sub-Saharan Africa. They also will move against Bosnia, Montenegro and Albania as a prelude to dominating the Balkans. AI Qaeda's Chechen rebel allies already are carrying World War IV to Russia. Islamic fundamentalists also have Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kazakhstan in their sights as well as Muslim provinces in China. By the time this second stage has concluded, Indonesia and Singapore in Southeast Asia and the Philippines in the Pacific will be Islamic fundamentalist caliphates.

Stage Three: Dominate then destroy the Judeo-Christian countries of Western Europe, South America, and finally North America to include Mexico, the United States and Canada. By the beginning of the 22nd century the worldwide Islamic caliphate will be in place.7"

This is no war on terror: this is World War III. Whether anyone likes it or not open war is upon us sooner than we think. There is nothing we can do to prevent war, it will come to the U.S.A. and it will destroy us if we sit here and do nothing. The only way to achieve peace is through war.
