Deadly CocktailReader comment on item: [Saudi Arabia:] Not Friend or Foe Submitted by David Steinberg (United States), Nov 22, 2002 at 01:25 Saudi Arabia uses its petrodollars to export terrorism to the west and to America in particular. I believe it has outgrown its "sell by date" and is now not worth the 20% it contributes to US oil consumption which could easily be replaced by the Russian oil fields if the reason was politically stable. This should be the main reason for the war against Saddam. He is a much more easily identifiable enemy then the Saudis. The double game that America has tolerated from the Saudis is about to end by the instigation of the Saudis themselves. Where would that leave us in The Middle East? Nowhere. This would leave a clear danger. The Saudis exporting the Software (Ideology of terrorism) and Saddam providing the Hardware. A truly lethal combination Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
